Sometimes I need a reminder...

Sometimes I get proud. The cross reminds me that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5).
Sometimes I am arrogant. The cross reminds me of the One who laid aside all his rights so that He might save (Philippians 2:1-11).
Sometimes I speak too soon. The cross reminds me of the One who was lead to His crucifixion and did not utter a word (Isaiah 53:7).
Sometimes I am boastful. The cross reminds me of the one who was crucified that I might boast in Him alone (Galatians 6:14).
Sometimes I am angry. The cross reminds me of One whose anger has been poured out on His Son so that I might receive mercy (Psalm 103:6-14).
Sometimes I am hurt. The cross reminds me of One who was bruised and beaten that I might have life (Isaiah 53:4-5).
Sometimes I am broken. The cross reminds me of One who requires a broken heart and a contrite spirit (Psalm 51:17).
Sometimes I am lonely. The cross reminds me of One who will never leave me and will never forsake me (Hebrews 13:5b)
Sometimes I am greedy. The cross reminds me of One who made Himself nothing so that I could have Him (Philippians 2:1-11).
Sometimes I feel dirty. The cross reminds me of One who gives clean hands and pure hearts (Psalm 24:3-6)
Sometimes I am impatient. The cross reminds me of One who displays perfect patience with me (1 Timothy 1:16).
Sometimes I am selfish. The cross reminds me of One who gave His life to serve rather than be served (Matthew 20:28)
Sometimes I need to forgive. The cross reminds me of One who forgave even the deepest of enemies (Luke 23:34)
Sometimes I need forgiveness. The cross reminds me of Him who is faithful and just to forgive us of all our sin (1 John 1:9).
Sometimes I just need a reminder. And today is one of those days…
“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:1-10)
